We are incredibly excited about this project, and it's coming up so quick!!
Our project will take place November 7th (Which also happens to be the day before Orphan Sunday which we thought was pretty awesome!!)
So what is Both Hands exactly?? I'm glad you asked!!
With Both Hands a widow and an orphan is served!!! How awesome is that?? The Both Hands projects are actually based off of James 1:27 where it states that the most pure form of religion is in fact taking care of the orphans and the widows.
We have gotten a team together, and we'll be going to work on a widow's house in town for a day- "helping the widow." Our precious widow, Ms. Nancy is 77 and lost her husband 20 years ago. She spends so much of her time selflessly loving others, including working at a local school and caring for her disabled son's needs. This has left little time to care for her own needs as well as upkeep and maintenance of her home. It's always somewhat difficult for those who have lost spouses to tend to these things on their own. We're so excited to serve Ms. Nancy and give back to such a wonderful person in this project!
As for the orphan, our team will be asking for sponsorship (much like they would for a 5k etc. except instead of running they'll be working on a widow's home.) All proceeds will be going towards bringing our precious girl home!
In this we would LOVE your help!!
If you'd like to sponsor our team, you can visit our project site for more information. There is a place to donate or directions to mail a check. We would LOVE it if you would prayerfully consider sponsoring us and helping us reach our goal!
All donations are tax deductible!!! Which is awesome!! If you donate $50 or more a receipt will be sent to you, if less you can just request one.
If you'd like to volunteer to help the day of, just contact me! We can always use more hands! :)
Also we'll need your help spreading the word!!! If you know anyone that would be interested be sure to send them the link! We would love to reach outside of our small little circle!!!
